Both the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ and the standard WestJet RBC® Mastercard‡ will see updates—a refreshing move following the last major overhaul in 2019.
Changes on the Horizon
For the World Elite card, expect a slight increase in the annual fee, moving from $119 to $139. This fee adjustment aligns with industry standards for premium credit cards but may still raise eyebrows among existing cardholders. On the upside, the earning potential is improving: cardholders will now earn 2 WestJet points per dollar on WestJet flights and select everyday purchases, including groceries, gas, and public transit. Additionally, flexibility is being introduced: users can opt for either a companion fare or use their voucher to receive a 30% discount on a solo ticket or a $200 credit toward trips with WestJet or Sunwing Vacations.
